On the Jarsky Logo
The Jarsky logo was designed by Anthony Carlucci, of knew—studio
It has several complementary meanings.
Womb, Cave, Blanket Fort
Mysterious. Sheltering. Dark. Secret. Safe. Mine. (Yours.)
A Mark
Put some paint on your finger. Daub it on the wall.
A Stone
Hidden in the heart of the earth. Tumbling in the tide. Generation upon generation.
“I am an orphan, alone: nevertheless I am found everywhere. I am one, but opposed to myself. I am youth and old man at one and the same time. I have known neither father nor mother, because I have had to be fetched out of the deep like a fish, or fell like a white stone from heaven. In woods and mountains I roam, but I am hidden in the innermost soul of man. I am mortal for everyone, yet I am not touched by the cycle of aeons.”
― Carl Gustav Jung

The Holes in Henry Moore’s “Large Two Forms”
I have a photograph of me seated in one of the holes in this sculpture.
(My dad took it, like so many parents of so many children.)
I have photographed my children there.
My son made a maquette of me and him sitting in it.
Capital “A” art that makes a place for children.
Public art that is part of my family, and surely of many others.
Revolutionary.
Combined in the logo, they represent a space for creation and for living.
Inviting. Enduring. Personal. Simple
